The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® inline three-cylinder (I3) makes 180 horsepower and can tow up to 2,000 pounds. For top-tier Escape towing power, pick the 2.0L EcoBoost inline four-cylinder (I4) with its 3,500-pound towing capacity. If fuel efficiency is your top priority, the Escape offers both a hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain. Available across most of the trim lineup, the Escape hybrid engine makes 192 horsepower and achieves up to 42 MPG in the city. The plug-in hybrid variant boosts total power output to 210 horsepower and achieves up to 101 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe).
